MaryCUNLIFFEAt a time of new beginnings we reflect on our childhood and think of you, our amazing mother, a true role model who we have tried to emulate as we brought up our own children. We remember that whilst we had few material things we had you, we instinctively felt safe, wanted, cared for and happy. We knew that whatever happened you were always there for us, putting us first even though that often meant you went without. Despite hard times you always managed to stretch a meal for anyone who needed feeding and opened our home to many who needed help and support. You lived by strong moral values and by example taught us so many invaluable life lessons around family values, resilience, a sense of fairness, the importance of helping and respecting others and the value of hard work. As our own children came along you revelled in the role of grandma - a role you loved and excelled at. The children adored you and hung on your every word. They loved sleepovers at yours, long walks with exciting stories and so many fun adventures. Happy times. They are all adults now but often reminisce with love about you, such was your impact. We are the lucky ones, we learnt from the best how to be mothers and grandmas. We hope we do you proud.
