Dearest Eileen
Can't quite believe I am writing this.
We met 21 years ago in 2001, when I was working at Sainsbury's & you were a customer who use to come in before work most mornings. You often came to my till, & we would always have a little chat. You took a liking to me & asked if we could keep in touch when I left to have my son. I always found it quite bizarre, but also quite touching that you chose to be friends with me. We have been in touch ever since, & you were the most loveliest, kindest, & most understanding lady I had ever met. I did not know very much about yourself, but just hearing how you were getting on was enough. It was so lovely to see you in the summer last year, & it was so lovely to hear you say it had made your day seeing me. I keep reading the last letter you sent to me just before Christmas, & keep thinking if only I had known how much you were struggling, I could have helped in some way, but I know you wouldn't have allowed me too, because that wasn't you. You were a lady that always helped others, but never accepted any help in return.
Sleep peacefully now Eileen, until we meet again. Lots of love
