Dear Grandad,
There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think of you. You were more than just my grandad — you were the heart of our family, admired for your strength, your honesty, and of course, your unforgettable humour.
I’ll never forget our moments together — laughing at your jokes, trying new foods, and listening to your stories. You told me about your childhood in Barbados, the sacrifices you made moving to England, and the dreams you carried with you. Those stories weren’t just memories, they were lessons in resilience, hard work, and love.
You were the funniest man I’ve ever known. You could light up a room with a joke at the most unexpected times, and that humour still lives on in all of us.
I’ll miss the little things — seeing you at your computer with Solitaire on the screen, Bajan music playing, and that cheeky smile when we asked, “How do you know this song?”
But most of all, I’ll remember the love you showed Nan. It was steady, loyal, and full of respect — an example of true partnership that we all look up to.
I feel blessed that we grew closer in your final years, and that I got to know you not just as my grandad, but as the remarkable man you truly were.
I carry you with me in everything I do, proud to be part of the legacy you’ve left behind — a legacy of courage, laughter, and love.
With all my love,
Your darling Kali
