Dear Pam, Louise, Chris and family. Betty and I were greatly saddened to hear the news of John’s passing at the end of a long and successful life. It has been a great privilege to know John and be one of his long-term friends, who not only helped us in many ways, but to others as well, and particularly, as a Governor at the Anstey Martin School plus being a very active member of his camera club. We remember well the happy times we spent together and seeing Lou and Chris grow up and marry. After we left Leicestershire, there was always a wonderful John and Pam welcome when we were able to visit them at their new bungalow in Anstey. Also, particularly of interest, and impressive to us, was his dedication to the Popple School Uniform Factory in Leicester and how sad it was when it was forced to close. His caring for his employees was second-to-none and was so concerned about their future, particularly those who had been there for many years. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
