Robert CrossleyPURDYWhittingham Passed peacefully in hospital on 23rd June 2025, aged 93 years.

Rob beloved Husband of the late Sylvia, loving Dad to Steven, Malcolm, Graeme and Vic also an adored Gangi to 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Rob will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends please meet for service at Northumberland Crematorium on Thursday 24th July at 12.30pm.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu to St Johns Ambulance, R.N.L.I. and The Salvation Army.

I´m very sad to hear of the passing of Robert Crossley Purdy who I worked with for a number of years, initially via Purdy Engineering and quite soon afterwards Flowline Hydraulics and finally DLI Seals.

He was a great business man for whom the expression selling coals to Newcastle was surely written and most appropriate. I have had many enjoyable discussions with him during the course of our business relationship and even managed to visit him at his Northumberland home after he relocated back to his roots following quite a few years in Nottingham.

Unfortunately I am unable to attend the funeral on Thursday but send my condolences to the family who I also know quite well.

Bye for now Robert. No doubt I will catch up with you again at some point in the future.
