Please accept sincere condolences from Paul and myself on the death of Ron. He has been our neighbour and friend in Milldene Avenue for 43 years. Our street won’t be the same ever again because Dorothy and Ron were such a mainstay and a constant, delightful presence in our midst. It always felt somehow reassuring to see them out and about and to chat to them and catch up on news and gossip.
With Ron’s passing, It feels like the very heart and soul has gone from our street because regrettably we are unlikely to have people with the qualities of Ron and Dorothy as neighbours ever again. Something rare, precious and irreplaceable has gone from our neighbourhood forever.
Helen and Ian, you should be very proud of your remarkable parents and the extraordinarily uplifting effect they had on their friends and neighbours in Milldene Avenue and in Tynemouth village, over so many years. We hope those thoughts and sentiments give the family some comfort in the coming days.

Jean and Paul Gibbons
