There are not enough words to describe the strength, love and happiness Roger Astley brought into every one of our lives. I know we are all grieving as we lost an amazing man but wherever he is, he is happy and free from pain.
My grandad was husband, grandfather, dad, brother, and friend to every one of us and I know that loads of us will have memories to share with each other about him.
Our grandad didn’t tell us how hard it will be without him but we had the amazing memories and times with him.
We are so grateful for every minute with our grandad, but we are so heartbroken that he has passed away and so lost without him. It is difficult to imagine what our lives will be like without grandad, but he is not fully gone, he will always be there to look out for everyone and even though Roger is not with us anymore, he will remain everywhere and is now at peace with granny.
His memories of us and our memories of him will never fade. Saying goodbye to our grandad will be so hard but we are so lucky that we got to spend our lives with him from children to this day. Roger would not want us to be down, he would want us to live our lives to the best as he is looking down on everyone friends and family. The loss of Roger Astley will be tough on everyone, but we need to keep strong and be positive and just keep his memories alive. He wouldn’t have of wanted to be in pain which is why it was time for him to go.
We love you so much grandad, you will always be in our thoughts, hearts and dreams, we will continue to make you proud. Sweet dreams to our amazing, loving, caring and wonderful grandad.
