JohnBROADHEAD17th December 1951 – 29th July 2025

Peacefully, and surrounded by love, John Broadhead,
aged 73 years, passed away on 29th July 2025 at Rotherham Hospice.

A loving husband to Yvonne,
a much-loved dad to Nathan and Daniel,
a cherished father-in-law to Suzy and Anne,
and a proud grandad to Callum, Isaac, Grace, Flynn, Beth, and Eve.
John will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

John had a lifelong passion for athletics and was a dedicated coach with Rotherham Harriers,
where he served as Chairman of the Under-15 section,
inspiring and supporting countless young athletes over many years.
His energy, encouragement, and humour left a lasting mark on everyone he coached.

Away from the track, John was the life and soul of every party — always ready with a laugh,
a story, and a smile. He brought joy to all who knew him and created memories that will be treasured forever.

The funeral service will take place at Rotherham Crematorium (S65 3NN)
on Monday 18th August 2025 at 2:45pm,
followed by nibbles and drinks at Wickersley Old Village Cricket Club (S66 2HL) from 4:00pm.

The funeral procession will depart from Harewood Grove (S66 3RW)
at 2:15pm for anyone who wishes to follow.

John requested that everyone wear what they feel comfortable in —
whether that’s smart casual, bright colours, or traditional black formal wear if you prefer.

No flowers, please. Donations in John’s memory are warmly welcomed for Rotherham Hospice,
whose care and support meant so much to the family.

Forever in our hearts, always loved, never forgotten

We are so sorry for your loss. John was a truly wonderful man — kind-hearted, always with a smile, and someone who made others feel welcome and at ease.
We have such fond memories of his warm and friendly nature, and we often think back to the many laughs we shared when we lived next door.

John’s presence brought joy to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
