Uncle Jim, an absolute gentleman who meant so much to so many.

Thank you for your guidance, kindness, and generosity throughout my life. From the countless taxi rides and dinners to the many favours and words of wisdom, and for the love you shared with Ronnie. ❤️ you are his best friend ❤️

The many messages here show the legacy you leave! A man remembered for all of the right reasons, and a man many of us were lucky to have in our lives.

You will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Rest peacefully, we have Sheila

Dad,

It is impossible to put into words just how much you meant to me and how much I miss you.

You were more than my dad; you were my guide, my protector, my biggest supporter and the person I could always rely on, no matter what life threw my way. Whenever Matthew or I needed help, advice or simply someone to listen, you were there. There was never a problem too big, a task too difficult or a sacrifice too great when it came to your family.

Throughout your life, many people knew you as "Gentleman Jim", and no nickname could have suited you better. You treated everyone with kindness, respect and dignity. You were honest, dependable and always willing to help others, never expecting anything in return. The gentleman that people saw was exactly the man I was fortunate enough to call Dad.

You taught me the importance of hard work, loyalty, kindness and respect. Through your actions, not just your words, you showed me what it means to be a good man. So much of who I am today is because of you.

I will always be grateful for the love, support and encouragement you gave me throughout my life. The countless lifts, favours, conversations, laughs and moments of reassurance that seemed so ordinary at the time now mean more to me than ever.

You were my hero, Dad, and I am so proud to be your son.

Thank you for everything you did for Tony, James, Mum and for our family. The hole you have left can never be filled, but your love, wisdom and the memories we shared will stay with us forever.

Sleep peacefully, Dad. You will always be our "Gentleman Jim".

All our love,
Michael and Matthew

Jim, losing you broke my heart in ways I cannot explain. You were and are the love of my life, and I am incredibly proud to have been yours. You were a true gentleman with a heart of gold, who always treated me like a princess. As a dad and grandad, your family were your world. You never wanted or needed much in life - your only goal was to see us all happy; and you brought so much joy to everyone around you. The love we shared and the lovely memories we made will stay with me for the rest of my life. Being your wife is the greatest gift of all. RIP Jim, your loving wife Sheila.

Very sad news to hear of Jimmy,s passing. I sailed with Jimmy both as AB and Bosun on the Matco Clyde for 6 years. He was a good and fair man who we all had a lot of time for. It was a long time ago but never forgot him. My condolences to all the family. R.I.P. Jimmy.
