Marcia, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend Chris's funeral, but my thoughts will be with you.I knew Chris through our work in the fire service ,I always considered him an officer of great integrity, good on fires and fair to his lads. He had a sharp wit and would often take the mickey with ease.
During tough years ,Chris was always positive and kept his sense of humour.
I always remember talking to Chris on the canal towpath between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge whilst walking with my wife he was recovering from his heart attack, but typical of Chris he was on his bike ,I enquired how he was and said that I thought he would be taking it easy not on a 40 mile bike ride!. He smiled and said that it was only a little ride.!! God bless him he was a good man.
Eddie Steel.
