WilliamHOWELLSWith great sadness, the family announce that Billy passed away peacefully,
with his loved ones by his side, on Saturday 10th January 2026.

He was a cherished grandad to Bren, Beth, Caleb, William, George, Ava, Alexander and Henry,
and treasured "Grandpa Billy" to Jimmy, Charlie, Evelyn, Alice and Rosie.
A true friend to many, Billy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I echo the thoughts of so many others: Billy was truly one of life’s great characters and a real gentleman - a hardworking, honest man who would help anyone without hesitation, provided there was a plentiful supply of tea or coffee and biscuits.

The attached photographs perfectly capture his ever-present smile. Billy was always pleased to see you; a visit was never complete without the kettle going on and cake or biscuits being presented.

We shared many good times on the squash court, followed by even better ones in the bar afterwards. An understated artisan with a paintbrush, his philosophy was simple: “You can have any colour you like, Spud - as long as it’s magnolia, with white ceilings.”

My sincere condolences to William, Grace, and Rebecca. Rest in peace Bill, my memories of you will live on.
