Rest in peace, dearest Auntie Gertie. 94 years young, and a true matriarch to our family. Though I cannot be with you all in England this Friday, my heart is there with the whole family. I will always remember her as such a lovely, caring person. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy in her children grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was loved by so many and will never be forgotten.
She was a shining light in our family—always kind, truly lovely, and the epitome of grace. As my mother’s sister, she held a special place in my heart. Though I am heartbroken not to be there in person, I am with you all in spirit. I know you will all be celebrating a life well-lived. Goodbye for now, Auntie Gertie, thank you for your love.
Your niece,
Linda

You were the best a grandson could ask for I remember our days sat around the table you’d tell me your old war stories and how I promised you I’d never drink I didn’t like it that didn’t turn out so well that one (sorry nan) haha. You told me about how your old mate use to be seeing a guy called fiddler and we’d be in stitches for hours re living that story. There was always a ham butty after school & some tea and nice biscuits waiting after school you’d never forget a birthday and always ask about my mum tell me the story of when she tied a belt around poor duke neck cos she was scared of it I could go on & on but there’s not enough room I miss you nan I always will from this day on I love you so much I hope your back with your Colin now I wish you could of been here to see your new granddaughter I’ll tell her all about you when she’s older. You ment so much to us all we will never forget you.
