BryanMCKENNAIt is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bryan McKenna on the 31st of August, 2025, at the age of 88.

Bryan was born in Gloucester on the 24th of November, 1936, and has lived in the city for the majority of his life. Bryan was a keen sportsman in his youth; he enjoyed a long career at Whitbread and Co.; his time in Hong Kong, whilst in the army, was happily spent playing sport all three years; and the decade he spent in Spain during his retirement was something he always smiled about.

Bryan was a loyal and honourable man, a husband to Avril and a father to two sons, Jeff and Sean. He dedicated his life to the support of his family. Beyond his family life, Bryan was a proud and active Mason for over 4 decades, a testament to his commitment to brotherhood and the service it offered. His Mother Lodge, was Fitzhamon, which meets in Tewkesbury. Throughout the years, Bryan was also an active member in several other Masonic Orders and he supported these up to his passing.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Avril, his son Jeffrey and his wife, Emma; and his son Sean and his wife, Shannon. He also had three grandchildren, Tius, Isabeau, and Erin. He is the last of his family, having been preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Alfred; his brothers, Arthur, Peter, and Stanley; and his grandson, Trajan.

A funeral service will be held on the 22nd of September at 3:00pm at Gloucester Crematorium.

Friends and family are invited to gather following the services at Wotton Hall Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made at the service for the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and Prostate Cancer UK in honour of Bryan's memory.
