Gordon,
My dear neighbour since I was small.
You had no choice when my Mam introduced herself by turning up in your garden with a sausage in a stick, ready to cook it on a bonfire you were having. From then you always looked out for us and made us laugh.
Thank you for feeding me turkey sandwiches at christmas when I told you I was vegetarian, thinking my mam was forcing it on me when, in fact, it was my decision, i just hadnt told you that part... Thank you for letting me visit Bob the fish for hours on end, for letting me play with Lucy dog non stop growing up, having me forever scouting through your garden, sitting on our wall, picking apples from your tree, and for always being willing to entertaining me as the curious little girl next door. Thank you for always looking out for me and my Mam in so many ways throughout my life.
We are so lucky to have ever had a neighbour like you and Im eternally grateful.
I'll miss you.
My thoughts and prayers are with Helen, Steven, your beautiful grandchildren, and the rest of your family and friends as we say goodbye to you today.
xxx
