John CyrilSHUCKSMITHIn loving memory of John Cyril Shucksmith, who peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on February 1st, 2026 with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marina on the 25th December 2010, whom he missed deeply.

Following his military service in the RAF, Cyril spent all his working life at British Steel as a payroll clerk. His hobbies included youth hosteling, badminton, rock climbing, swimming & cycling, all which he thoroughly enjoyed and was good at. Cyril was a strong role model, devoted husband, a beloved father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and uncle, he will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Funeral service will take place on Friday 27th February 2026 at 11am in the parish church of St Lawrence's in Scunthorpe followed by a committal at Woodlands Crematorium in Scunthorpe.

Those wishing to donate in memory of Cyril are asked to consider Lindsey Lodge Hospice and the Youth Hostel Association Co-op Funeralcare 2 Bottesford Road Scunthorpe DN16 3HE

So many good memories of you Cyril. The times I woke you up at 7 a.m. at your house to go swimming at Scunthorpe Baths. I was lucky to have you as a brother in law, along with Clyde and Jay. Thanks John.
