Trevor and our mutual friend Trevor James were fellow students at the Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School. We shared a love of classical music, literature and sports. In fact we discovered Steinbeck and Hemingway when they were virtually unknown authors at BRGS. Trevor Smith kept in touch with me after I emigrated to the USA and he visited me in North Carolina around 1975. He wrote letters to me on a regular basis including one this past Christmas. We shared a subtle sense of humor. His friendship has meant a great deal to me over the past 75 years. I will miss his letters and updates on former BRGS students. Trevor had an amazing mind and was a superb athlete. In this modern era he could have been World Class.

Trevor - thanks for the friendship and memories
