I have many fond memories of Beth while helping out in the kitchen at Clare Farm or having a good chat over tea and biscuits in her living room, but mostly I remember how I always felt completely welcomed by her and never too much trouble. She and Kim inspired so many of us at EWB and gave so much of their time and energy to support us over many years, always with warmth and good humour, despite the upheaval we would cause at their home on such a regular basis. Their generosity and vitality were remarkable and showed what living a good life could look like. Thinking of Beth, Kim, and their loved ones.

A wonderful lady. I met Beth when she came to work as a volunteer at HMP Highpoint where she helped so many of the women prisoners to improve their literacy skills. She was so down to earth and she got some great results. To me she was a complete inspiration. I’d feel tired just listening to everything she’d done in a morning before coming in! I took my children to meet her at Clare Farm a few times and they still remember her fondly (and the dogs of course!) Such a generous, vital and warm hearted lady. Sadly missed.

Beth made the world a better place, and her legacy continues through all the people she has helped and guided. I'm grateful to have known her and her funny, sharp and wise words. May Beth and Kim rest in peace together. Thinking of you all.

Beth and Kim were two of the most fabulous people I've met. I feel like they were probably too down-to-earth to approve of being called 'inspirational', but they were certainly a couple that I looked up to, and at an early age provided an example I wanted to try and live up to.

I was one of many to visit Clare Farm with Engineers Without Borders, and I was actually lucky enough to be responsible for Cambridge branch's training, so got to spend even more time with Beth than most. She was incredibly impressive, I just really didn't understand how she could produce so much food, and she was obviously so smart, but I think I most fondly remember her kindness and her wit - she was just such good fun to spend time with :)

I have so many fond and happy memories of times at Clare Farm with Engineers Without Borders. Beth and Kim opened up their hearts and their home to so many, and shared so much experience and knowledge from their extraordinary lives. Thank you for all you did Beth, and deepest condolences to all of the family.
