JeanALLENMrs Jean Allen of Lyndon House, Great Harwood, passed away on May 20, aged 91 years. Jean was a weaver and later became a charge hand at Taytwist on Water Street, Great Harwood. Jean’s main hobby was the Caravan Club with her late husband Ron. They were on the committee and they travelled Europe far and wide, they had many friends. Dearly loved wife of the late Alban ‘Ron’ Allen, much-loved mum to Tony and Andrew Allen, loved mother-in-law to Gwen and Nicola, cherished grandma to Scott, Sarah, Ashleigh and Joshua. Precious great-grandma to Freddie, Joseph, Tilly and Jude and a good friend to many. A 10.30am service will be held on Friday, June 9 at St Bartholomews and St John Church, Great Harwood, followed by committal at Accrington Crematorium. Reverend Graham Birch will be taking the service. Family flowers only but donations will be gratefully received in memory of Jean to the British Heart Foundation or Cancer Research UK.
