The obituary notice of Roger Gerald ANDERSON

My husband Peter Poynton player guitar in various groups many years ago now, with Roger on drums. Pete is in hospital himself at the moment but will, I know, be very sad to hear of his passing. Roger was a well respected musician and a dear friend back in the day and will be sadly missed by his family I am sure. Our thoughts are with Rogers family, particularly Linda, Penny and Michael. I still see them as small children in my mind. Time flies but memories remain

I have very happy memories of growing up with Roger and his family on Burton Road, Measham.

We met Roger only a few times and when we did he greeted us as though he’d always known us with a delightful bright, cheery, happy go lucky way that leaves you feeling uplifted by his presence.

Thank you for making us feel a part of your life.

Roger was quite simply a wonderful man. I’ll miss the twinkle in his eye just before he’d crack a joke—his humor was truly one of a kind. Whether he was finding the rhythm on his drums or capturing beauty as a talented artist, he lived with such kindness and creativity. He made the world more colorful, and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to have met him.

Uncle Roger, a gifted drummer and painter who also made the best cup of tea! I’ll always cherish the many weekends and summer holidays spent at the Anderson family house whilst growing up, when he would always make time away from work for Mike and I whilst we were up to mischief.
A kind and gentle man. Rest in peace.
