AgnesASPDENMrs Agnes Joan Aspden, died on Wednesday, August 25, at Lumb Valley Care Home, Lumb, aged 92. She retired from Rossendale Sewing Machines Ltd at 60. Agnes supported charities, including Macmillan Cancer and the RNLI. She loved embroidery, cooking, ballroom dancing, theatre at Waterfoot, ballet, was a lifelong member of Lumb Baptist Chapel, and a lifelong member of the Ladies Circle at Lumb Baptist. Wife of the late William Aspden, who died 23 years ago, she leaves daughter Susan, grandchildren Nicola, Louise, and Paul, and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 1pm at Lumb Baptist Chapel, led by Rev David Livermore. Donations if desired to Macmillan Cancer and the RNLI.
