It’s with great sadness that I share the news that my dad, Dennis Keith Barnard, passed away on August 12th in Camborne, Cornwall — just two days before his 92nd birthday.
He lived a long life full of service, stories, and love. He proudly served in the Royal Navy, spending time on aircraft carriers with the Fleet Air Arm, and carried that strength with him throughout his years. Though life took us in different directions, I will always be grateful for the times we shared and for being part of his journey.
In his final days, he was surrounded by incredible love and care from his devoted wife, Tress, who never left his side, and from all our family and friends. A special thank you to Karen and Kerry, and to Kara and Melodie, who cared for him around the clock and gave him comfort and dignity, with the loving support of us all.
His legacy is carried now through my sons, Nathan and Kane, and Nathan’s children — Sophia, Parker, Mawgan and Winnie — who already have his name and spirit with them.
We will remember him for his smile, his wit, his stories, and the strength he showed until the very end. Rest peacefully, Dad — loved and missed always.
