Dear Anne, Dear Mary Clare, Dear Kathrine and to all the Barnecutt family,
First, this letter is to communicate the deepest and most heartfelt condolences from all of the Kentucky Tobin’s to all the members of the Barnecutt family, and most especially to my sister Anne, his wife and to his daughters Mary Clare and Kathrine, to his sons-in-law Ciarán and Emmanuel, and his grandchildren Eimhin, Eleanor, Anna and Erica and all their friends and colleagues.
Peter Stockley Barnecutt was an outstanding individual and a talented and dedicated husband, parent, family man, and also, when he had time, an outstanding musician and musical colleague. One thing about musicians is that they reach out to and touch more hearts than we will ever know and the one thing we can be sure of is that Peter, as a person, as a husband, as a father and as a family man, as well as an outstanding and talented musician, reached out and touched more hearts than most of us can ever hope to reach and touch in our lives.
Music touches each of us intimately, it absorbs our awareness and fills our minds and warms our souls and, as an intimately shared experience, brings people together at the most fundamental level. As we mourn Peter’s passing, we will fondly remember all of his positive contributions to our lives and also to the many lives of people whom we know and the many that we do not know but who listened to enjoyed and responded to his music, all of which contributions will live on.
Again, our deepest sympathies to all the Barnecutt family and we will be joining you electronically and in spirit in the large chapel at Chanterlands this coming Friday, May 23rd.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas T and Miss Vicki and Mary Courtney and Miss Lillie.
