The obituary notice of Gino BERNI

Sad loss. As a child, and member of the feral town centre teenagers who used to plague Gino on a regular basis in his familes much loved and sadly missed uniquely Italian cafe at the top of town. Many of my childhood memories are of his mum and dad manning the tills and standing guard at the entrance to the shop. I spent many a warm evening in the comfort of his table booths, enjoying what we then called a 'frothy coffee'. The booths adequately huddled six of us around the table and lent a flavour of Italian luxury, a country of which none of us ever dreamed of visiting in the sixties.
