In about 1977 my boss told me to get down Crabmill Lane as the scrapyard needed someone to sort the accounts out. Sat at first in a cold shed trying to write stuff in a book whilst fighting icicles. 20 odd years later was still doing the books although this time in a slightly warmer place in Rowleys Green Lane. You and Dick always looked after me. Hopefully you are both playing snooker somewhere.

Such sad news about Dessie. My memory's of Dessie go back to the mid 60s when the scrapyard was based in Crabmill Lane. At the time I was only a teenager working for D Di Mascio Ice Cream Company who relied on Dessie and co to supply parts to keep the vans rolling. As the years passed and the business moved to better premises I still kept in touch by visiting the scrapyard regularly. Dessie was always welcoming and up for a chat, he always looked after me too with no rip off prices. God bless you Dessie Sir, RIP Mate.
