IanBOLTONMR Ian Anthony Bolton passed away peacefully, with his loved ones by his side, on Thursday, August 22, aged 61, following a long and courageous battle against cancer. Dearly loved husband of Margaret and beloved father of John and the late Declan, loved brother of John and Linda, dear son-in-law of Kathleen, much loved brother-inlaw of Helen and Wayne and adored uncle and great-uncle of Simon, Victoria and Daniel and their families. Ian attended Holy Family School in Accrington and Blackburn Technical College. He worked for many years as a project engineer in data communications for Motorola and various other data communication companies. Ian was a keen footballer, playing for Accrington Stanley and other local teams and was an avid supporter of Manchester United. He was fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Fr Martin J Broadley and Fr Frank Down at St Marie's Catholic Church, Bury Road, Haslingden on Monday, September 2 followed by burial at Haslingden Cemetery. Family flowers only, but donations, if desired, to Cancer Research UK c/o funeral director Paul Roberts for Johnson Durning and Woods Funeral Service 8, Pleasant Street, Haslingden. The world will be a colder place for all his loved ones without Ian.
