Dearest John - rest in peace gentle man.
Such a good kind hard working man - not only for others but also the village. You were passionate in everything you did.
I will never forget the hard work you undertook for us at our new home in the village for my late husband and i.
A real trooper - a real gentleman. I will always visualise you steadily back and forth through the village on your tractor with a smile on your face and a wave of your hand.
God Bless you beautiful man.

An amazing man, an incredible life story and a wonderful person and friend. I shall miss you and our debates with no topics spared. A huge loss to both the village of Barnoldby le Beck and St Helens Church, to which John was the principal key holder for over a half century. I shall miss you in many ways. With deepest respect , Jo and Kevin x
