* WARNING LONG Post...sorry, not sorry *...
Roger Brett affectionately known as "Min" growing up in our house as in :- " go up the shop cus Min might have it/ is Mins still open? and the favourite one of all (said by Mum) "just popping up Mins" and returning 1 hour later " sorry I got chattin"! Bretts Stores was the staple of our family life, it was the potatoes and veg for our Sunday roasts and the 1st shop for ingredients for cooking lessons at school. We knew the family and nearly ALL of the residents of Merioneth St, it was the hub for neighbourhood news, views and a good gossip. I was born in the year of decimalisation and didn't really embrace it but I think I learnt more Maths from Mins old fashioned and still working till than ALL my future Maths lessons. When Mum was diagnosed with Epilepsy she found a kindred spirit in Min and together they would chat for ages about their meds and seizures and recovery stages. Reunited with Mart and say Hi to Mum won't ya!! and thanks for letting us off those odd pence when parents NEVER gave us enough.. love , thoughts and prayers to Tara, Carie,Emma,Neil and the rest of your family and friends.
