PaulBRITTONMr Paul Britton, of Stacksteads, died at midday on Saturday, March 5, on Ward B14 at Royal Blackburn Hospital. Paul was a very talented rhythm guitarist, musician, songwriter, guitar teacher, and just an amazingly strong and gentle human being. Paul loved his wife Janie, Mindles their dog/pup, and their previously departed pups Suzie and Molly. He loved F1 car motor racing and was so passionate about it. He lived for music and had his own band Skyeladder, in which he wrote songs with wife Janie, and was a very talented rhythm guitarist and songwriter. He leaves wife Jane Evelyn Britton, who says, “he was my soulmate and love of my life” and was brother-in-law to Christopher and Julie, Catherine and Charlie, David and Louise. The funeral was due to be held on Thursday, March 17, at 3pm at Accrington Crematorium, conducted by minister Philip Norris. Flowers and donations are both welcome. Paul had a passion for Dogs Trust UK as he loved dogs and all animals. In the end Paul died from stage 4 bowel cancer, but he also had multiple myeloma cancer, and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and would love to see more research in these areas. Paul loved tulips, hence why Janie planted so many in the gardens at home, and he also loved sunflowers because they are big, gentle and bright, roses, irises, and poppies, which were his mum’s favourite. He loved the colour purple and in fact got married in a purple shirt. Donations can be made online at www.fredhamer. co.uk (tributes and donations). Funeral director: Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Services, Rawtenstall.

Paul was my guitar teacher when I was younger and I couldn’t be more grateful for what he did for me. His patience, understanding and willingness to nurture me was the probably the reason I stuck at it and still play to this day. I'm in a band now, and hope that he would be proud to hear about what he made. Thank you Paul
Johnny

So so sorry to hear the news Janie. Johnny will never forget his time spent with Paul - the lessons helped make him the guitarist he is today. That’s a legacy to be very proud of. June and Costa
