I was at school (Loughborough Grammar School) with William for 10 years (1959-1969), both as boarders. We kept in touch occasionally over the years. A sad loss and it was an honour to be at his memorial service.

We were so very sad to hear of Williams’s death. Having trained at St Georges at a similar time I overlapped in training and knew him well.
Trying to arrange a St Georges 76 qualifiers reunion precovid I established an alumni group. Obviously reunion didn’t happen and hopefully we will meet up next year.
I posted a message to the group of Williams death and messages have poured in of great memories of this fun, clever, extrovert character who was passionate about his work and his sport.
Everyone said what a cruel loss and send their condolences as indeed do we
With our sympathy and love

My wife and I had the privilege of working alongside William for many years in Macclesfield DGH. We greatly admired his professionalism and he was a pleasure to work and talk with. Our condolences to the family..
