My brother Christopher Buckham sadly passed away on 8th June 2023 after his battle with cancer and I am so proud to be his wee sister. I don't think I was able to go anywhere without someone who knew him and I was always asked,"Are you Chrissy Buckhams wee sister, some fitba player hen!!!" Everyone knew him and was loved by everyone wether they played with or against him. He was born to play and he was lucky to have an extra weapon in his football armoury that was encouraged by my Dad and Grandpa to use his left foot as well as his right and turned it into his secret weapon with ease. I wasn't a fan of the game but I was so proud he was my big brother with a passion that lasted all his life and was a season ticket holder for St Mirren FC for years. The club have been very respectful of him and was given a minute silence when he passed and again on his birthday that October that blew my mind when I saw the video. I could hear his pals screaming his name and chanting, "Chrissy Boy, whistling from the crowd and even the Dundee fans were shouting his name and paying their respect!!!" Amazing! I must thank SMFC for the respect and love shown for him and our family. I was in floods every time I saw it but sadly lost the video after losing my phone. I was a music fan and was annoyed when he gave the Beatles Help LP that my mum had from the 60s. I was 6 when I listened to it before school and he never knew the significance of giving away such an iconic piece of vynil and probably swapped it for the next Panini sticker or a programme but I did. I would gladly give it away for another day with my big brother. I miss him terribly. RIP Chris ♥️🙏love Susan xxxx

Chris was the first person I met when I signed up for St. Mirren Bootcamp way back in 2019. He was so welcoming and made me feel at home right from the start. He was one of a kind and the world would be a better place if there were more people like Chris in it. This Golden Girl will never forget him. Rest in peace and thank you for simply being you.

Met Chris at FFIT 2019, following on to bootcamp, where he affectionately labelled us "The Golden Girls". With his great sense of humour he kept us all amused. Even on a bad day, Chris would pick you up. I am so honoured to have known you Chris. Couldn't have met a nicer guy. My heart goes out to Julie, Roan, Brogan and family. Rest in peace my friend and thanks for the memories.
