Miss Butterworth as she was to my 2 sons was a great influence on their young lives. My youngest now 39 commented when I told him she was the best. Sums up her life in the teaching. I knew her from Norden days growing up, a few years my senior but always the same when I met her in M&S after she retired. Sleep well Joan. Alison Knott (Ling)
