It took me a while to think about what I wanted to say, the main thing I could come up with was this. I loved being his daughter, I hadn't realised that my dad simply was, my hero.
A loyal, kind, forgiving and fantastic person who always belived in me and who always lived by his values, he taught by example and he showed me that the man I should marry should be just like that. I knew I got it right when he said to me ' I like Mike, he reminds me of me a fine figure of a man' I knew then I had nailed it!

I was always so proud that my Dad was a fighter pilot, so clever and kind of cool, the stories he told were fascinating even when you had heard them, well, a lot! and I could tell you some of them but we haven't got all day. Of course we had our ups and downs and I realised over the later years that time spent with him was so important. I think I speak for all of your children and Grandchildren when I say you were a most awesome dad and grandad, Brandon especially loved his visits to see you and he will miss you very much

Dad helping to look after you in your final days was all in all the greatest privilege of all, to help care for you at home in the place you wanted to be and to be with you when as you slipped away from us.

I want to say thank you for all you did for me and for the sacrifices you made, I will always love being your daughter and I will miss you everyday.

our uncle jock was precious, and very much loved, we loved his story telling, love of John Wayne and most of all the way he doted on his “lovely”wife and family, he was a gem of a man and invited his mother in law into his home and looked after her so well it gave her a new lease of life living with his family, he was generous of heart and we will miss him. The stories he told the adventures he lived and always returning to his beloved wife, who stood by him, loved him and in later years looked after him in away that her whole of her family have admired her for, this is the end of an era, what a fine man defending his country during the 50’s and Cold War and always trying to make the right decisions for country and family - we will miss him so and yet he will never be forgotten, we are the better for him being in our family. On a personal note my uncle jock took me swimming when I was young, together with Clinton and Ralph and was always kind to me which I will never forget - an uncle to be proud of love Linda and John

Uncle Jock was a remarkable man who lived an amazing life. On a recent visit to Holyhead he made it very clear how lucky he felt to have had the life he's had alongside Auntie Audrey and his wonderful children and wider family.
It's been a hard year for the Byrne's and our thoughts are with the entire family at this sad time.
