MichaelCALLANMr Michael Henry Callan, of Crabtree Avenue, Edgeside, died at Highfield Nursing Home on Tuesday, May 3, aged 89. Born in Co. Louth, Michael was a weaver in the cotton industry at John Butterworth, Waterfoot. He was a member of Rossendale Ramblers, and was a keen gardener, who loved music and family. Husband of the late Esther Callan, he leaves son Declan Callan and Trish, their children Hannah and Ben, and great-grandchild Oliver, son Neil and wife Sheila, and their daughters Jessica and Elisha, and daughter Elaine and her husband Paul, and their children Emily and Ted. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 16, at 10am at St Peter’s RC Church, Newchurch, led by Father Boast. Flowers welcome and donations if desired to Cancer Research UK can be made online at www.fredhamer.co.uk along with tributes. Funeral director: Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Services, Rawtenstall.
