John LeightonCARNEYEx 3M, Penllergaer Passed away peacefully on August 11th after a short illness, John, of Alltwen. Beloved husband of Lynne, devoted father of Louise, Ffion and Thomas, dear father-in-law of Ceiron and Philip, much loved Pop to his grandchildren Ioan, Olivia and Imogen, loving son of the late Mairwen and Jack, and son-in-law to Pamela and the late Brian. Cortege departing John's home at 9:35 on Friday 27th August, travelling Gwyn Street to Alltwen Rugby Club, and then on to a service at Margam Crematorium at 10:30. Attendance in the Crematorium Chapel is still limited to a number invited by the family; those who wish to pay their respects are requested to do so at the Crematorium driveway, and are reminded to do so safely, adhering to current Welsh Government advice. A warm welcome is offered to those who would like to join the family for refreshments at Alltwen RFC following the service. We lost track when John left DVLA, although I played snooker with Jack over the years and always asked about him. I'm a few years late in finding this out, and it's so sad. Hoping the family are doing OK, they're bound to have great memories, we were a group of 8 or 9 guys the same age and he was so well liked.

I was so saddened to hear the news of John's passing. I have many fond memories of working with him in 3M. His character and sense of humour helped us all get through working those unsocial hours. My condolences to all family and friends.
