Hello.
I used to service Elaine's boiler, up until about 7 years ago when I emigrated. Latterly I was caring for my mother who had dementia. For special customers I continued to attend to their boiler servicing, bringing my mother along. This was the only way I could continue to do some work. But it was only for customers I knew I could leave my mum sitting with, drinking tea etc, whilst I worked. Elaine (I used to call her Mrs Carter till she insisted it was Elaine!) was one of only a handful I entrusted my mum to.
Although I only met her for a few hours every year, I am so glad I knew her. I remember picking up the keys from the shop when she was working there, and I remember the stories she told me about her late husband as I admired all his darts trophies. And not forgetting the teas and biscuits!
God bless you. You are together again.
Thinking of her family and friends.
John.
