MaureenCARTLIDGE(neé Beckett) Passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 5th, 2025, following a short illness.

She leaves her husband of 65 years, Jimmy, three children, Sandra, Anthony and Paul, and her brother, Joe. She joins her sisters, Doreen and Barbara, who passed before her. Born on the last day of December, 1936, Maureen married James Cartlidge in 1959, living in the Dingle and Toxteth before moving to Netherley in 1970. She was devoted to her family, her faith, and the many friends she made through her involvement with St Gregory's church and the local community. Always humble, Maureen was quietly involved in organizing church trips, food banks, and breakfast clubs, and was one of the original trustees of the Netherley Youth and Community Initiative. Her faith was practical and bound to service and her compassion for others was limitless. She helped so many people without them ever knowing, and she would blush to hear her praises sung. She had a great sense of humour and was quick to laugh. She made lifelong friends in a life characterised by sacrifice, selflessness, and loyalty and by the love she readily gave. That love was returned manyfold and Maureen will be dearly missed by the many hearts she touched.

Funeral service Our Lady of the Assumption, Tuesday 28th October 2025, 12pm followed by a cremation at Springwood Crematorium, 1.30pm.

Although Mum loved flowers, she would be thrilled if people wanted to make a donation in her name to the Netherley Youth and Community Initiative. donate.giveasyoulive.com/donate?cid=155134#amount
