James PatrickCARTLIDGEPassed away peacefully on December 20th after a long illness. He joins his wife, Maureen, who died October 5th 2025.
Born November 18th, 1935, Jimmy started work at a very young age to support his mother, brother, and three sisters while his father was at war. Being severely deaf, he didn't receive an education, but he worked long, hard hours driving lorries and taxis. He met Maureen while delivering regularly to her place of work. They married on December 12th, 1959, and raised three children. His work demanded long, hard hours but he did them without complaint.
He was unflinching in his devotion to his family. He is survived by his children, Sandra, Anthony, and Paul, and by his sisters Frances, Margaret, and Celia. May he rest in peace.
Funeral service to be held at Springwood Crematorium, Thursday 22nd January 2026 at 12 noon.
