GordonCHIUIt is with great shock and sadness that I must announce the passing of my Father, Gordon Kwok Sum Chiu. He left us suddenly at home in Gateshead on 13th December 2023 at 53 years young. Leaving behind, the love of his life, Wife Amanda and Daughter Nicole. Born in Yeovil he lived across the globe - from Hong Kong to Fenham via Kingston Park, Seaham and Walker. Gordon became a ubiquitous figure in the North East Chinese restaurant scene catering to customers in Morpeth, Stowell Street and beyond.

A pure Geordie through and through; we take great pleasure knowing his last year was spent reliving his youth (with NUFC back fighting)!

A character full of life, laughter and most importantly football, and I know he'll be missed by everyone who met him.

He is also survived by his dedicated and beloved Mum and siblings, alongside his close-knit in-laws and extended family.

If you wish to join us in our farewell to Gordon, the Funeral will be held on Wednesday 24th January, 10am at Saltwell Cemetery Chapel, Saltwell Park, Gateshead. NE8 4SF.

Any stories or photos from my Dad's eccentric past will be greatly appreciated, please send to [email protected]

Only just heard the shocking news. I went to primary school with Gordon, he was such a lovely lad. I even remember writing a poem in which he was featured.

I have very fond memories of Gordon in the 80s he was one of 6 of us for a few years that were a great friendship unit , and even sorting his bothers receipts for a free dinner , one of our main hang out places was his garage in Kingston Park

So sorry for your loss

Rest in peace Chewy ❤️❤️❤️

So many good memories, in Stobhill and in Morpeth, such a gentleman, we were all teenagers together.
