GeraldCLARKEBorn in Rochdale, 30/9/1936 - attended Lower place school and Rochdale high school. Lived most of his life in Australia. Married Pam and had 4 daughters. Died 28/3/2018. ODE TO A FRIEND Gerry Clarke was one of a kind, A Smarter Man you would not find, He was a sportsman, through and through, Not just a spectator, but a competitor too. He loved his soccer, I'm sure you knew, The club he followed was English Man U, He dabbled in Politics and had some strong views, But poor old Gerry Clarke couldn't hide from the news, Being Mayor of Waverley was a job he liked, But he couldn't avert a garbage strike. Many things happened over the years, Some of which nearly bought us to tears. He fell of his bike one Pancake day, He couldn't get up so in the road he lay. He kept his dignity right to the end, To say the least he was a very good friend. Now the torment is over and the pain has ceased, He will be fondly remembered, MAY HE REST IN PEACE. Chris Woolgar.
