I’m only now (May 2026) learning about the passing of David and I felt compelled to leave a tribute in the hope that Kay and the family might one day read it.
I joined David’s architectural practice in 1987 and worked there for four years under David’s excellent tutoring. He was an extremely intelligent and very kind and gentle man who I always felt wanted to share what he had with others. He shared his knowledge with me spending enormous amounts of time on technical issues imparting his knowledge. He introduced me to his family which was a privilege and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated my years at the David M Clement Partnership.
One of his last legacies, aside from his beautiful family, will be the Abarafan Shopping Centre which is prominently visible from all locations in the town which David was lead architect on, and something he was rightly very proud of.

Thank you David for your care and guidance in the time I was under your direction. You’ll be fondly remembered by me for ever.
