The world feels quiet, now our nan is not here,
A soft, sad whisper, a silent tear.
You where the first to hold me, tiny and new,
And I held your hand, as my goodbyes grew.
A fiery lady, strong and bold,
A story in your eyes untold.
You stood your ground, you spoke your mind,
A heart of gold, so hard to find.
Your animals were family too,
Each furry friend, so loved by you.
From cats that purred upon your knee,
To dogs that ran so wild and free.
We grandkids, cherished in your sight,
Your love for us, a guiding light.
And my red hair, a fiery blaze,
You'd compliment in countless ways.
I saw you in my sleep last night,
A peaceful glow, a gentle light.
You smiled at me, so calm and clear,
A message whispered in my ear.
"Look after your Mum for me," you softly said,
A promise echoes in my head.
Though tears may fall and hearts may ache,
Your love remains, for goodness sake.
I'll keep your words, a precious guide,
And hold my mum close by my side.
We'll miss your spirit, bright and keen,
Though memories will always gleam.
And in our hearts, a flame will stay,
To light the path along the way.
Sleep tight nan
