John JamesCONROYof The Laurels, Bacup passed away at Blackburn Hospital on September 9, aged 83. John worked at Duralay Haslingden for 45 years. John enjoyed pigeon racing and raising chickens. He was a proud Irishman from the Connemara and lived in Rossendale most of his life. He loved to travel, especially to Spain where he owned a property. John had made his last visit to Ireland with his daughters weeks before he passed away. He was a devoted family man and a keen sports follower. John was husband to the late Ida and father to the late Simon James. He is survived by daughters Pauline, Allison and Lisa-Jane. Grandchildren Lee, Michelle Emily and Casey-Leigh, greatgrandchildren Josephine, Lauren, Max, Sienna Erin and Eden. Sister Josephine and many nephews and nieces. Special thanks to The Laurels for their tender loving care. A funeral will take place on Friday, September 22 at Accrington Crematorium at 12.20pm, conducted by Keith and Susan Mulvaney and prayers at Hamers at 11.30am.
