I have not spoken to my cousin Elaine for many years but I remember how excited I was to be a very young bridesmaid at her wedding to Richard so long ago. I also remember her coming to my parents’ home for carol singing and bringing several of her children with her. Like her mother and my dear aunt, Doreen, she was happy, optimistic and compassionate.
