When I arrived at Macclesfield as a fresh probationer I really hadn’t got a clue.
Doug took me under his wing on many occasions and was a source of great inspiration and guidance and I learned so much from him in my early Police career. Much respect and many thanks,
Tony Holt.

Dear Glenis, Simon, Johnathan and all the family.
Sincere condolences to all the family.
When Doug and I were partners at Macc CID in the 80’s it was such a pleasure to work with a man of his talents, experience and skills. A great Detective and good friend.
Whilst later out of force for 12 years I worked with Detectives with various levels of skills and abilities from a variety of forces and agencies and I always thought back to my time working with Doug, he was exceptional, the ‘best of the best’
I will miss him.

Hello Glenis, Jonathan, Simon and all the family,

We are so sorry to hear of Doug's passing.

I will miss him as an ex colleague but more so as a personal friend. It's a fact Glenis, that we have missed seeing you both in recent times. We used to enjoy your company and those lunches out together, over the years.

Doug was a hard working, conscientious family man with many talents.

He was a good, decent, caring and dependable colleague with a wise head. He was always ready to help anyone he could and I don't believe he received the full credit he truly deserved.

Doug has had more than his fair share of illness and even though we knew this sad moment was imminent, we were so upset to hear that he had passed away.

We know that you all did everything you could to support him when he was not well.

Sending you all our sincere condolences, love and best wishes.

You've always been in our thoughts.

Much love, as always

It was a privilege to both train with and work alongside Doug. We joined Cheshire Constabulary on the same day.He was a dedicated and thoroughly professional Police Officer who always strived to do his best whatever the circumstances. He could be relied upon to offer his support when needed. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences go out to Glenis and family at this difficult time. May he R.I.P.

Doug Coppock,

Dear all,

It was an honour and a pleasure to have worked for many years alongside Doug on the same Relief when we were humble police officers at Macclesfield. Although I left in 1981 and moved to London, I still remember those days of laughter and support we gave to each other. Sadly, missed and much respected Doug, it was a privilege to have known you.
