LauraCORKINWe are deeply saddened to announce the death of Laura Kate Corkin, of Windsor Avenue, Helmshore, on Tuesday, May 10, aged 43. Laura worked for many years as a legal secretary at Woodcocks, Haworth & Nuttall before leaving to study and work in care and then nursing. Laura recently has been volunteering for Haslingden Food Box. Laura loved live music, comedy and was an excellent swimmer who had taken part in the Great North Swim in Windermere (coming second in her category) in aid of Perthes disease, a hip condition which she had since childhood. Much loved mother of Fay, Murray and Fred, daughter of Jeff and Margaret Sutcliffe, sister of Grant and Anna Sutcliffe, and fiancée of Andrew Duffy. The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 9, with a service at Goodshaw Baptist Church at 1pm led by Rev. Stephen Crook, followed by a celebration of life service and committal at Burnley Crematorium at 2.30pm, led by celebrant Jill Bolton, and a wake at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall from approximately 4pm. In her will, Laura wrote that she would appreciate it if flowers and mourners’ clothing included her favourite colours pink, purple and blue. Oh Laura, Laura, Laura!

It shouldn’t have been… it really, really shouldn’t have been…but it was.
Your whole family really worked hard to get what you wanted for your final outing. Your friends showed up in droves and your kids… well they are awesome individuals who MORE than did you proud!
I’m sorry we didn’t get Alison Moyet to perform but you know what… it was a good do… i ‘think’ you would have loved it.
