I first met Adrian ("Ace") in about 1984 at the University of Essex. His intelligence, caring, sense of humor, casual coolness, homebrew, and political sincerity was a very special and unique combination.

My fondest memories of him in Colchester and Exter were when he and Jenny were deeply happy.

After I moved to work in Germany, we saw eachother les often, but still kept in touch writing letters. He was so proud that Pete (or "Mutley" as he always fondly referred to him) had made him an uncle.

He wasn't the sort of guy who felt comfortable being photographed, but I found a few photos of him from 1986, and have uploaded them here as a tribute to Ace and those happy times.

Cheers Ace, it was a privilege to have you as a friend, and a great pleasure to have shared happy times with you.

Those who were lucky enough to know you well will always miss you.
