NormaCOWPEMRS Norma Cowpe, of Wells Street, Haslingden, died suddenly on Monday, July 29, at the Royal Blackburn Hospital surrounded by her loving family, aged 82. Prior to her retirement, Norma worked as a Clerical Supervisor for a number of local businesses in the haulage industry. She was a member of the WRVS which included assisting with the running of the Autumn Club in Baxenden and also a member of the Haslingden United Reformed Church. For 39 years she was associated with the Girls' Brigade movement in various roles including Deputy Commissioner for the North West Division. Other interests included flower arranging and baking. She leaves husband James, daughter Louise and son-in-law Andrew, grandchildren twins Emma and Oliver and step-sons James and Chris. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 13, at Haslingden Methodist Church followed by a burial at Haslingden Cemetery. Family flowers only however donations, if desired, to Kids in Rossendale c/o funeral director Johnson, Durning and Woods, Haslingden.
