ShirleyCROSSnée Miles It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Shirley Cross (née Miles) announce her passing on 8th February 2021, at the age of 87. She will be lovingly remembered by Robert, her husband of 56 years, and their family Mathew, Julie, Daniel, Deborah and their grandchildren Emily, Benjamin, Alexander and Finlay Shirley was Head Girl at Clarendon House Grammar School, before teaching at Dane Court Grammar School and King Ethelbert's School. She was a keen sportswoman playing at Margate Tennis Club and Westgate & Birchington Golf Club. She was an active member of the Birchington Guild of Players and Thanet Sunrise Rotary Club. There will be a small family funeral and the family hope to hold a celebration of her life at Quex Park in the summer. I have only just heard the news of Shirley passing I was her hair dresser for many years and we would talk for hours especially about her sons and grandchildren so sorry I didn’t know sooner
