I studied law at Leeds University 1974-1977, and in my first year shared digs at Devonshire Hall, Cumberland Road with Jeremy. I recall he was a pupil of Bradford Grammar School, and although he rowed for Bradford Amateur Rowing Club, and l for Hollingworth Lake, l never encountered him competetively.
He did row once or twice whilst at Leeds but did not really pick it up again. I lost track of him after 1977 but saw him in a pub in Covent Garden several years later.
I will remember him for helpnig out at a Leeds disco to raise funds for the University Boat Club, and also for the water fights we had at Devonshire in those halcyon days.
Rest in Peace Jeremy
