Alun PenroseDACEYAlun sadly passed away after a battle with cancer on 13th August 2024 at Morriston Hospital aged 75 years.

Beloved son of the late Thomas and Eileen. Alun will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Tuesday 10th September where a service will be held at Swansea Crematorium at 12:30pm.

I have only just read of Alun's passing. I have very fond memories of our travelling together to play in a section of the British chess championships in Oxford in 1967. I think Alun was waiting for his 'A' level results. Sharing lodgings, punting on the river (and falling in), singing Tom Jones songs to keep the Welsh flag flying,and generally having a lot of fun together. It seems a long time ago but I can remember it like yesterday. Rest in Peace Alun.
